This office is organized around the principle of , "How can we help you". This philosophy might collide with the general opinion of government held by some people, but this office is genuinely interested in setting the correct assessed property values and assisting property owners. The Assessor's office has the responsibility to locate all taxable property in the County and identify ownership. This office establishes value for all taxable property and applies all legal exemptions to the property. The Assessor's office is not responsible for the computation of the tax bills, collection of property taxes, establishing property tax law or setting the rules and standards by which all property is appraised.
