Mission and Program Description
The mission of the Marshal's Office is to protect and to serve the
Judiciary and the Public by ensuring a safe environment in the Superior Courts
of San Benito County through dedication and professionalism. All civil
process, warrants, and court orders shall be served and enforced with a
commitment to providing those services in the most efficient, courteous, and
cost-effective manner. In addition, the Marshal's Office enforces the laws of
the County and the State of California.
The Marshal is elected by the registered voters of San Benito County for a six
(6) year term. The Marshal's jurisdiction and service area extends over all
of San Benito County, California -- a territory comprising nearly 1,400 square
miles and 56,000 people.
Services
- Courtroom security and order, protecting the judges and the public.
- Protection of County employees and the public in the County Courthouse.
- Coordinating jurors' security and Court trial issues that relate to
security.
- Serving Court orders, civil process, summons and complaints, and
warrants.
- Rental evictions.
- Assisting other law enforcement agencies.
- Enforcing the laws of San Benito County and the State of California.
- Participating in our community by providing efficient, courteous,
ethical, and cost-effective public service
