Mission and Program Description
The Board of Supervisors is a five-member legislative and policy-making
body of officials who are elected on a district basis, one each from five
districts. Each Supervisor is elected to serve staggered four-year
terms.
The Board of Supervisors generally meets on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of
each month, at 9:00 a.m., in the Board Chambers, located on the 1st Floor of
the San Benito County Administration Building, 481 4th Street (corner of West
St.), Hollister, California. The Board does not meet, however, on the
2nd Tuesday in July or the 4th Tuesday in December.
At Board meetings, Supervisors meet with representatives of all levels of
government, experts, and the public to enact laws (ordinances) and approve
budgets that improve the quality of life for all of San Benito County's
residents. The Board also adopts resolutions and proclamations on
matters of concern to the County.
